A recent finance grad says that he gets daily satisfaction from his job and he doesn’t think there’s a more rewarding career out there than sales.
He graduated with a finance degree in 2009 and completed an internship in IBM’s software group before being hired by Softchoice as an Inside Sales Account Manager (ISAM).
As an ISAM, he manages roughly 50-75 mid-market accounts and says his role is to be customer’s go-to person from an IT perspective. He helps with anything from simple price quotes to designing and configuring complex solutions. “Technology is always changing and we need to stay ahead of the curve.”
He says his job is a customer service role that requires a high level of attention to detail and organization, as well as a strong willingness to learn new things.
“The key to this role is not to know everything about IT (or anything at all for that matter). The key is to know your resources within Softchoice and to leverage them appropriately.”
Softchoice is a leading North American provider of IT solutions and services. With a network of more than 40 local sales offices supported by 5 regional call centers, Softchoice works with partners like Microsoft, HP and IBM to manage the technology needs of more than 19,000 small, mid-market, enterprise and public sector organizations.
